Perilous Times

The evening news was bleak and somber 

Another update on our plight 

The latest statistics had revealed 

Vast deterioration, - since last night 

 

A blanket of pain and suffering 

Touching multitudes great and small 

Had spread quickly across the world 

None like it, elders could recall 

 

Most all experts in their field 

Were groping for a solution 

What could they do, to offer hope 

To give reprieve and resolution 

 

All efforts are appreciated 

But let us pause and reflect 

The Creator of the universe 

His children, He will never neglect 

 

It may be hard to understand 

The verse in Romans eight; twenty eight 

But He Who hangs the moon and stars 

Will not let His children suffer fate

 

So when perilous times are rampant 

And it seems we have no place to turn 

Remember, He cares for the little bird

Much more for us, - He has concern
