Jesus gave His life that I may live,
And it makes me wonder what I can give
To repay Him for loving me so,
And being faithful in letting me know
That He would provide the way
If I’d just lean on Him every day.
What can I give to show my appreciation
For Him saving me from eternal damnation?
What can I give that could be worth
Him leaving His home in glory to come to earth
To save sinners like you and me
By giving His blood and life to set us free?
As I search the word as to what I can give,
It tells me of the life I should live
To please God,
And what can save me from His chastening rod.
It tells me to make my life a living sacrifice,
And the instruction are precise.
So, what can I give for Jesus giving His life
To save me from eternal turmoil and strife?
Exactly what do I possess
That can thank Him from saving me from my mess?
Could I give Him back the money He allows me to earn?
Could I give back to Him all He’s allowed me to learn?
Would it be enough to donate my possession?
Would He be pleased with my sincere confession
Of being a sinner saved by grace,
Or, would it please Him if I run diligently to win this race?
Exactly what can I do
To thank Him for all that He went through
To save me from who and what I could have been
And the efforts of men
To pull me down and keep me from salvation
With lies, rumors and false accusations?
I use my hands daily just to help out,
And I use my mouth to feed faith and starve doubt.
I use my ears to hear the words He has to say,
And I use my eyes to follow His way.
I use my heart to love without restraint
And I use my mind to avoid reasons for complaints.
I use my feet to walk the straight and narrow way,
And I use my voice to give praise all through the day.
All that I have, I give back to God who loves me so dear
That He soothes my doubts and calms my fear.
I give it all as a source of appreciation and thanks,
And I give it without hesitation and complaints.
