Joyful, Patient, and Faithful
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. (Romans 12:12 NIV)

These days we can look all around and see nothing but bad circumstances. It’s easy to lose our joy, but God tells us we need to be joyful in all circumstances. He lays out a recipe for us to follow every day.

We need to be joyful in hope. A Biblical explanation of hope is a confident, joyful expectation. Hope is not just a wish that you dream about. It is real and something you can count on. So we need to be joyful and expect good things to happen for us, no matter the situation.

This verse also tells us to be patient in affliction. We are going through some trying times in our lives. We have had our lives turned upside down in many cases, but we need to be patient during these times. We know that Jesus is still Lord, He’s still on the throne, and nothing can change that. He sees us and He is here with us throughout our trials. So we need to be patient and just trust in Him with everything we have.

Finally this verse wraps up with faithful in prayer. We need to be praying for our circumstances, others in need, and the end of these trials. We will probably never get back to life as we knew it, but we can return to something better if we are faithful and pray from our hearts that things will change for the better.

Lord, please help me to remember to be joyful, patient, and faithful today. I trust in You. Thank You. In Jesus Name, Amen.
