Prayers

Lord God,
As the virus impacts more and more people globally,
We know that others are suffering all around us,
And only you have the power to help them,
We thank you that you are a loving and merciful God,
And you hear the prayers of your people,
In this time of need,
We pray for those who are currently infected,
Please bring them healing and protect them from any further health complications,
Give them wisdom in how to best isolate themselves,
And grant them the care and treatment that they need,
We pray for those who are grieving over lost loved ones,
Please comfort them and bring them healing at this time,
And provide them with the support that they need in their time of grief,
We pray for those who are vulnerable to the virus,
For the sick and the elderly,
And for all those who are at constant risk of infection due to their daily circumstances,
Give them the wisdom to follow appropriate healthy and safety guidelines,
And keep them safe from any possible sources of infection,
May you please grant them peace for any anxieties they may have about the virus,
We pray for those who have lost their work as a result of this situation,
And are struggling with their finances,
Please provide for all of their basic daily needs,
And grant them your peace as they face an uncertain future,
We pray for the many children who can no longer attend school,
Please help them to adjust to the challenges of learning online and being stuck at home,
We pray for the parents of these children too,
Please give them patience and strength as they manage all the responsibilities,
Of both looking after their children at home and managing any work commitments,
Please support them through all of the daily pressures that they face,
We pray for those who are struggling with loneliness and isolation,
Please comfort them with your love,
May you provide them with the support and care they need,
And open opportunities for them to engage with the communities they live in,
And Lord, we pray for all those who are going through this time and don’t know Christ,
We pray for all those who are living without a sure hope,
For all those whose sense of earthly security and comforts,
Have been shaken by this virus,
And for all those who struggle with the despair and anxiety of an uncertain future,
We pray that through all this chaos,
You would continue to work through your church,
Spreading the hope and love of Jesus to those in need,
So that your gospel would continue to bear much fruit around the world,
We pray that during this time, many people would hear your Word,
And that they might lift up their burdens, sins and cares to you,
And find the sure hope of salvation,
Through faith in Jesus Christ.
