Prayers

---

Lord God,
We continue to lift up to you the many more people in our society in need of your help,
We pray for our government leaders and medical experts,
Please uphold them as they face the daily pressures of making tough choices,
Give them the wisdom and discernment to make the right decisions,
Help them to know how to best stop the spread of the virus,
And cope with the repercussions of the virus,
On things like our economy, healthcare systems, education and much more,
We pray for our church and ministry leaders,
Please give them wisdom about how to best continue the work you have given them,
Through the resources, technology and gifts they have,
May you strengthen them to keep preaching your Word faithfully,
And give them discernment about how to best serve your people at this time,
We pray for the many organisations and volunteers supporting those in need,
Please grant them all the resources and workers they require to provide for others,
Help them to persevere in the work that they are doing,
As they continue to build up and strengthen struggling communities,
We pray for our healthcare workers who are on the frontlines,
Please keep them in good health and protect them from infection,
Strengthen them as they continue to care for the ill and vulnerable,
Please be raising up many more healthcare workers and providing enough medical supplies,
So that all those who are sick would be able to receive the treatment they need,
We pray for all the various other workers who are continuing their jobs,
And for students who are continuing their studies at schools and universities,
Please help them as they adjust to working in a different environment and format,
Grant them the skills they need and help them to keep working/studying hard,
We pray that you would also protect them from any risk of infection they face each day,
We pray for those who are working hard to find a vaccine,
Please grant them the skills and wisdom they need in research,
We pray that a vaccine treatment would be found soon,
And that it would be able to be administered quickly and efficiently throughout the world,
But as we pray, we also remember Lord that you remain sovereign over all things,
Comfort us by the knowledge that nothing happens outside your control,
We pray that regardless of what the next few weeks, months and years hold,
Please continue to work out your good plan through this pandemic situation,
We pray that through the challenges we face, you would strengthen the global church,
Unite countries and communities around the world,
And draw more and more people closer to Jesus,
And as we wait for the future to unfold before us,
We pray that you would remind us that in whatever situation we face,
Whether we face times of happiness or times of sorrow,
Times of peace or times of crisis,
Times of health or times of sickness,
Times of riches or times of being in need,
You will remain as our one sure anchor,
And by your grace we will get through.
