Marriage

Marriage is a complex and complicated institution. What are involved make it complex. To tackle its complexity calls for the Author of the institution to be the Master Architect of any lasting marriage. For this to work also calls for the absolute faith of those in such a marriage.
What makes marriage complicated is the human factor. This, among others, will be the subject of discussion in this write-up.


My counselling experience has revealed that many couples are only living together as "husbands and wives* in the flesh. Whereas, their hearts, which is the abode of real love, is with someone else. Whereas, such couples do everything together "in love" to observers and people around them. However, their hearts or the heart of one of them is far away with somebody else.


Most of the time, it takes special effort or observation to get the truth of a matter of such magnitude. Many times, it involves spiritual revelation. Such people involved in that kind of relationship are only living together. The conversation of a Samarian with Jesus reveals an example of such a lfestyle. The conversation goes thus:
Jesus Christ, "Go, call thy husband, and come hither."
Sanarian woman, "I have no husband."
Jesus Christ, "Thou hast had five husbands, and he whom thou now hast
is not thy husband in that saidst thou truly." John 4:16-18. KJV.


Like christ's statement about the woman that the truth is that the man with whom she dwelt was not her husband. This is true of so many marriages even today.
Note that such a marriage may have been contracted through traditional method or means, or on ministers of God or a government registry officals may have joined the woman and the man together in holy matrimony. This occurs in any means by which they have been joined together.


It is essential to point out point that holy matrimony is a spiritual (heart) matter. This is a truth that can not be denied nor run away from.
The sad part is that, it can be fake!


How?


A body language of a male and a female can show that there is a strong love affinity between them when in actual fact there's none. This in many cases cause people concerned to join them as a husband and a wife. Let me cite the of a man and a woman as an example :


The duo met and purposed to fall in love for the rest of their lives in their youthful days. For unknown reasons, they lost contact for not less than fifteen years. After their failure to reconnect to each other, the man got married to another lady who became his "heart-throb" who gave birth to two children, a male and a female.
The young lady also got married to another man who became "my love" to her. She gave birth to three children. I can't remember their sex as at the time of putting this piece together.


According to a grand divine arrangement, they met together in a very big church building and they rekindled the fire of their love. Real love "began to burn" in their hearts.
The man cannot marry two wives. She cannot drive away the woman at home. He cannot "snatch" another man's wife. Likewise, the woman can not divorce her husband. She cannot afford to keep a man - friend or concubine. She cannot snatch another woman's husband.
What next?


Both introduced themselves to the two innocent man of the lady and the woman (the wife) of the man. The woman even had the effontery to tell her children, "This is your father for whom I ought to give birth to you".
Funny enough, their children love both the man and the woman, as they relate in love.


The question now is, "Who occupies the heart of the man? Who is occupying the heart of the woman?
Turning the search light into your heart, ask yourself," who owns my heart? Who among my ex men or ex women and the one I am married to?
You know better.


It is pertinent to tell you that the RIGHTFUL OWNER and OCCUPIER of your heart should be the Lord Jesus Christ. Ask Him to take His rightful position in your heart and it shall be well with you.
