When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. John 2:13 NIV
Jesus did honor some of the religious customs, as here we see Him traveling to Jerusalem for the feast of the Passover. Those customs that were solely for the purpose of serving man, and not God were not those which the Lord honored. But to travel to Jerusalem for some of the feast days was within His travel distance and exemplified the importance of participation therein.
Keep in mind that for religious customs to consider how the custom brings honor to God. This should help in determining the true importance of the custom.
