YOU AND YOUR HEALTH

We are told to eat a healthy diet for maximum health; but what is a healthy diet and what does it consist of. I don’t have the space for a lengthy synopsis, but just a lite sprinkling of the facts. Some may disagree with me, but that is okay. I base my conclusions on my years of research, and my own experience as well as others who have taken the healthy road and made a big difference in their personal health. I know of some who have reversed their diabetes, being able to completely eliminate the need for insulin injections, reduced their blood pressure to be able to eliminate the meds.
But we are now faced with an unknown enemy which we know very little about and which is attacking those with a compromised and or weakened immune system with a vengeance. This fact alone makes it even more important to boost and build your immune system to the max. This is no guarantee you will be immune from diseases, but it will give you a better chance to fight it off with milder symptoms and a quicker recovery.
Today we have 18,000 cases of Wuhan COVID-19 Virus reported in all fifty states with 225 deaths; now, last year there were over 1.5 million new cases of cancer diagnosed, that is nearly 4500 new cases per day, with nearly 900,000 cancer deaths per year, and almost as many heart related issues. Where is the media coverage outrage over a lack of action by the politicians in preventing this massive number of deaths? Where are the shutdowns of society?
Why is there not such a nationwide, as well as a daily emphasis on eating healthy, as they’re placing on washing your hands and avoiding crowds?
We in this nation have a major health problem and it is called food poisoning and promoted by the food industry. Yes, we are slowly poisoning ourselves. Todays generations cannot get enough fast foods, junk foods, processed meats, hormone filled meats and other foods, as well as salty and sweet snacks laced with all the chemicals and growth hormones tossed in for an extra treat. Todays generation seems to have a disdain for fresh fruits and vegetables, preferring instead microwaved and fast food take-out.
I have personally made a 180 degree turn in my health as well as my wife’s health. Hers from cancer and mine from a heart attack/stroke waiting to happen, borderline diabetes and other ailments, back to excellent health. This was accomplished by eliminating all processed foods/ fast foods/ sweets/ meats, and going with a vegetarian diet of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and grains.
I squeeze fresh orange juice every morning, I juice various vegetables for breakfast, eat an apple for lunch, and salad and vegetables for supper or some prefer to call it dinner. I have not had as much as a cold or a stopped-up nose in 20 years, I take no medications and work everyday except Saturday, which is the Sabbath. We do occasionally splurge and break from our diets, but not often.
It has been reported that today’s fruits and vegetables are 20-40% less nutritious that 50 years ago due to the over-farming of land, and the latest from the USDA indicating that roughly three fourths of the American population are not getting the bare minimum RDA. That is 3 out of 4 people vastly undernourished.
Now if we combine the two statistics mentioned above, and the diets of processed and junk foods and sugars, we then can see why we have a vast epidemic of deadly diseases such as CANCER- HEART DISEASE AND DIABETES, with heart disease and cancer topping the list, and running neck to neck.
No amount of drugs/ surgery or chemo will ever be enough until the American people become educated in the field of a nutritious life style, put the junk food, processed foods, and sugars aside and begin eating a healthy portion of fresh fruits and vegetables on a daily basis as a habit; your body will not only thank you, but you will be amazed at the excess energy and health you didn’t know existed at your age, along with the milder effects from colds or other ailments you have to contend with.
God designed these bodies to last for a long time, and to be healthy during that time by consuming what He designed for us to exist on. Genesis 1:29-30 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
Notice that God never mentions super-sized burgers and fries, pork chops, or hot fudge sundae’s, but only plant-based foods for ours as well as the animal’s survival. I am in no way advocating vegetarianism, but this is what God intended for His creation to live on, and person after person has proven the benefits of abstaining from all these hormone and chemically enhanced meats and processed foods.
Just as an engineer designs the engines to run on certain fuels for maximum and long-lasting performance, God also designed our bodies to use plant-based foods for fuel to give us maximum and long-lasting performance.
1st Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
