Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10 NIV)

Joy is something that can be easily taken from us. We know the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). He wants to steal our joy because it’s how we connect with God. God is our joy and our strength.
When we lose our joy, we lose our strength. We tend to let little things get in our way, such as negative people, bad things people do to us or our loved ones, or even driving in traffic.
The good news is that we can recapture our joy just as easily. When we focus on God, we can’t help but be joyful in all the areas He works in our lives. Psalms tells us an easy way to bring joy is through praise or singing. This brings us into the presence of God.
Paul told the Philippians the secret to keeping our joy. Keep rejoicing in the good and bad times. He told them, and us today, that we are to rejoice and be content in all our circumstances.
Joy is not just a happy feeling; it is a way of living. Even in our worst moments we can have joy knowing that God is with us. Let the joy of the Lord make you stronger today.

Dear Lord, please help me realize I can keep my joy all day long. Thank You for reminding me that I can regain my joy if I lose it at any point. Thank You. In Jesus Name, Amen!

Our joy is found in the presence of the Lord, in giving Him praise and thanks. Thanks for the share. God bless you!
