Recently my husband and I were enduring marital problems. I went to the world with our issues instead of seeking God for the answers. The world’s response was simple and vague, the world was eager to be entertained and as I spoke of negative issues that had arose between my husband and myself. When I got the word that my personal issues were being discussed amongst others I was upset and angry. It was through my anger that I heard God’s comforting voice, “What did you expect when you took your issues to them, instead of bringing them to me?” In the midst of my anger a smile burst upon my face, I could not be angry at the world because I granted the ammunition. Sure when problems arise we want to be able to call upon our families or friends, but if we have to be careful to whom we call upon. Everyone we know and love does not hold a Godly spirit. Our love for our loved ones does not grant them the love of God, that is something that they must personally seek. By taking my issues to the world I escalated the issues. And now that God has brought those issues to the past the world still remembers and still attempts to take us back to what God has brought to come to pass. We must pray about people before we confide in them, and when God reveals to us that this is not the person to bring that particular issue to we must hearken to His voice. Through God I have matured as a wife, I have come to realize that marriage is not a perfect sanction, it is not a fairytale it is a reality. And though we want our spouses to be perfect people, and they may want the same of us it will never be that way. But the love we have for them will never fail (Corinthians 13:4-8). In actuality, it is the trying times that strengthens love, it is easy to love someone when all is perfect. We must use wisdom and understanding when dealing with the people we love. We must use that same wisdom and understanding when we turn to the world for care and support.
