Lord God,
Sometimes I wake up and wonder if my life will make any difference in the world,
I constantly battle against my insecurities and the feeling of not being good enough,
I feel like everyone around me is so much smarter, stronger, holier, more confident,
More gifted, wiser and more successful than I am,
I fear that everything I do is constantly being judged by others,
And I feel the need to always seek others’ approval,
Every time I try to serve you,
It seems like I make no impact,
And no matter how hard I try to live by your holy standards,
I always fall so far short of the mark,
But Lord, please remind me that I am not a mistake,
But that I have been made in your image and for your glory,
Just the way you wanted me to be,
I thank you that even with all my faults and failures,
Nothing can separate me from your love,
I thank you that you have gifted me in a particular way and blessed me with opportunities,
To serve your church in a way that no other part of the body can,
When I feel like my efforts are meaningless and futile,
Please remind me that nothing done for you is ever a waste of time,
And whenever I stumble from the right path along the way,
Give me the grace to get back up and keep going,
Knowing that you are with me in every single step,
And that you will finish the work you have started in me,
So help me to stand firm in you, knowing that I am loved and valued,
And renew my strength as I seek to serve you this new day,
Sharing your hope and love to others who also struggle with feeling worthless.
