Lord God,
So often I wish I could just live my life in fast forward mode,
I wish that I could just skip the seemingly dull moments of the present,
And jump straight to the next best event of my life,
But as I look ahead to all the good things in the future,
I often miss all the blessings you give me in the present moment,
So Lord please forgive me when I fail to appreciate all that I have now,
Teach me that even the dull and weary moments of the present are a blessing from you,
Help me not to look so far ahead,
That I fail to make the most of the opportunities that I have right now,
Teach me to live each moment in the present with thanksgiving,
And to focus on doing the work you have given me to do today,
Knowing that no moment you give me is ever a waste of time,
But should be lived out for your glory.
