When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. John 1:37 NIV

Were these two disciples deserting the man they had followed and who had taught them about the forthcoming Messiah? Nor really. I believe that John the Baptist told them that Jesus was the One they must follow. John had told them beforehand that the Master had existed before him and had just proclaimed the previous day that Jesus was God’s Chosen One. John knew the completion of his mission was nigh, so why would he not want these two disciples of his to follow the Lamb of God?
