Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?” John 1:37-38a NIV
Jesus’ first words to these men who followed after Him were in the form of a question. Just as then, Jesus asks each of us (our heart and soul) “What Do You Want?” What we must realize is that Jesus already knows that which each of us wants.
We must approach Jesus with honesty. Jesus can help to change our hearts so that we can seek the truth, but we must be honest with Him. Are we fed up with empty promises of this world? Are we lacking joy, peace, and the sense of true purpose to life? Jesus stands, waiting to provide all this and much more to each of us. Listen very carefully and you will hear the still voice of our Lord as He asks you “What Do You Want?” I pray that which you want is the fulness of life, which can only be provided by Jesus Christ!
