They Saw

Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joseph saw where he was laid. Mark 15:47 NIV

The disciples of Jesus had fled from Him when He was arrested. Peter denied Christ three times in the courtyard. These women however followed Christ wherever He went when they knew the whereabouts of His presence. I see no mention of any of the disciples being at the sight when Jesus was laid to rest, yet these women, who truly loved our Lord were there. There was not enough time to properly prepare the body for burial at that late hour of the day. These women would come after the Sabbath to properly anoint the body for burial. They therefor needed to know where His body was to lay. These women are witnesses to the fact that He was buried in a tomb and that a heavy stone was rolled in front of the entrance.

Oh, that we would show love to the Lord as these devoted women did. Love the Lord with all you have. He has provided much for you!
