Many Women

Some women were watching from a distance. Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joseph, and Salome. In Galilee these women had followed him and cared for his needs. Many other women who had come up with him to Jerusalem were also there. Mark 15:40-41 NIV

The three women specifically noted above were among the ones who took part in ministering to the needs of Christ’s humanity. Many women followed Christ, and why not? His character was like a magnet to them and Christ certainly would not exclude any one with a sincere heart from being a follower.

How often do we think about the humanity of Christ? Often, we might be tempted to think that Christ can’t understand something about us because He is God. He most assuredly is part of the Trinity, yet, neverless He did come from heaven to earth and took the form of a human. He does know and understand our human needs, physical and spiritual.
