Why Darkness At Midday?

At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon. Mark 15:33 NIV

How and why is it that there was darkness in the area of the crucifixion from noon until three in the afternoon. One need look no further than the realization of the fact at this time there was a coming together of all the sins of mankind that ever would be committed, coming together to be borne by our Lord in the eternal sacrifice made for our redemption. If the coming together of every sin which would ever be committed is not enough evil to create darkness during midday, then what else could possibly cause such an event? Yes, sin is darkness, and cannot stand in the presence of the Heavenly Father. In order for us to stand before the Father, made righteous, all mankind’s sins needed to come together to be borne by our Savior. And so, it was done!
