Was This Meant To Be Deception?

Those who passed by hurled insults at him, shaking their heads and saying, “So! You who are going to destroy the temple and build it in three days, come down from the cross and save yourself!” Mark 15:29-30 NIV

Was this mockery of those passing by the site of the crucifixion an attempt on Satan’s part to try and trick Jesus into so doing as those who requested of Him, to save Himself? At any time Christ could have halted His crucifixion, but then what would have been the eternal fate of all mankind? I think we know the answer to that question. Christ was determined that He lovingly was going to submit to the Father’s plan. Nothing could stop Him from fulfilling all the prophecies which had been declared concerning Him. It was now His time to save us from eternal damnation, and He would not allow anything to stop Him from so doing. All happened as was planned. Be glad for the salvation which graciously has been given unto you!
