Clothed In Christ

And they crucified him. Dividing up his clothes, they cast lots to see what each would get. Mark 15:24 NIV

Just as the four soldiers watching over Christ’s crucifixion cast lots for His clothing, so too are we clothed in Christ. We are clothed in the righteousness of Christ, which we require to stand in the presence of the heavenly Father. It is through His suffering that salvation is offered to each of us. We are blessed in suffering, that which we accept in order to follow the Lord. Just as our Lord hung naked on the cross, so we must rid ourselves totally of the sinfulness into which we were born. This is not done of our own, but only through the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Strip yourself of the sinful clothing of this world. Be crucified into Christ.
