Where Shall We Celebrate?

On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, when it was customary to sacrifice the Passover lamb, Jesus’ disciples asked him, “Where do you want us to go and make preparations for you to eat the Passover?” So he sent two of his disciples, telling them, “Go into the city, and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him. Say to the owner of the house he enters, ‘The Teacher asks: Where is my guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?’ He will show you a large room upstairs, furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there.” The disciples left, went into the city and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover. Mark 14:12-16 NIV

Where were Jesus and His disciples going to celebrate the Passover meal? They were in Jerusalem, and evidently no one had invited them to share the meal at a designated place. No problem. Our Lord knew exactly where the place to celebrate was located. He gave explicit instructions to a couple of His disciples, who went ahead to the city and found things exactly as the Lord had told them they would. Another occasion of a foretold event by our Lord to His disciples.

You do realize, don’t you, that the Lord knows everything which shall happen to you? If you listen to Him, following His instructions, everything will work out as it has been planned. Sure, there may be adversity involved, but your well-being is in the hands of the Master. Is there any safer place for your well-being to be? Don’t be foolish enough to think that you can handle matters better than the Lord. He knows everything. We know so very little. We were created to trust the one who made us. Let go of fear and put your trust in Him!
