A Call To Be Blessed.
Godly blessings are not as easily received as being spoon fed, nor are they so hard as to be toiled and labored for, they belong to them who would humbly and faithfully receive it from the Lord.
The process of receiving gives us the option either to accept or to reject and blessed are they who accept the free gift of salvation from the Lord and preserve it as their most precious asset.
“He has helped His servant Israel, In remembrance of His mercy, As He spoke to our fathers, To Abraham and to his seed forever.”
Luke 1:54-55 (NKJV)
Abraham lived as a depressed man (as Abraham and Sarah were childless) almost 43% of his life (until 75 years), until once he heard the call of God to a blessed life. God promised to bless him on the condition of perfect obedience and trust to which Abraham proved true all through his life.
Just imagine if he would have rejected the Invitation from God, would anyone ever know him? Would he ever become the Father of the nations and a person to be called as ‘the friend of God’?
It’s all about choices and how we respond to God’s call and invitations to bless us. No matter how old we might be, God surely has a blessed plan to take us out of our failures and depression and bless us so our testimony may be changed for all to be encouraged as to how God can bless a willing soul.
Not only Abraham, but King David also experienced this blessedness in his life…
“I waited patiently for the Lord; And He inclined to me, And heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, And established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth— Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, And will trust in the Lord.”
How about us? Will we make a choice to receive this blessedness from the Lord God?
O how eagerly He waits to bless us. Only if we could accept this Invitation of a blessed life with Christ.
