Lord God,

I thank you for my Muslim neighbours around me,

That each of them has been made in your image,

But Lord, so often I am afraid to reach out to my Muslim neighbours,

I confess that I am afraid to step out of my comfort zone to show them love,

I fear being misunderstood or misunderstanding them in some way,

Or somehow appearing culturally insensitive or ignorant,

But Lord, I thank you that you love every Muslim,

And that you desire for them to also hear the gospel of Christ and be saved,

So Lord, please grow my love and compassion for my Muslim neighbours,

Convict me of their need for Jesus,

And give me boldness as I seek to reach out to them in love,

Whether it’s taking time to talk with and get to know my Muslim neighbours,

Or helping them with various daily tasks,

Or even inviting them to my church,

Give me patience and wisdom to listen and learn well,

As I seek to understand the culture, values and beliefs of my Muslim neighbours,

So that I can better love and share the gospel with them,

In a way that is culturally sensitive and respectful,

Please also open their hearts Lord and convict them of their sins,

Convict them of the truth of the gospel of Christ,

And help them to come to a true understanding of who you are as revealed in your Word,

Teach them that your love is not earned through good works,

But that it is only because you first loved us and saved us in Jesus,

That we can now love and serve you,

So Lord, help them to put their faith in Jesus,

And to find new life in him.
