Lord God,

I lift up to you my friend who has been ill,

You know of all the struggles that they are going through at this time,

And how their illness has affected them,

So Lord, please bring them relief from their pain and heal them in all ways,

Physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually,

I pray that you would protect them from any further health complications,

Please give wisdom to the medical staff for how to best treat them,

And bless the treatment my friend is receiving,

I pray that it would be effective in healing their body,

Continue to bless their recovery and provide them with enough rest,

And please bring them back to full health again soon,

Please also strengthen my friend’s family at this time,

And give them wisdom in how they can best love and support my friend at this time,

But I also pray Lord that would strengthen my friend to stand firm in their faith,

I pray that this illness would not cause them to lose hope,

But continue to comfort them by your love and grant them your peace,

Help them to hold firmly to your Word and renew their joy in you,

And provide them with other Christians around them who can support and pray for them,

I pray that you would renew them with your Holy Spirit,

And sustain them by your grace through this difficult time,

So that even if it is not in your will for them to be healed for now,

Their hope in Christ would never fade,

And they would continue to seek to glorify you each day.
