When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains. Mark 13:7-8 NIV

One cannot turn on the television or go to the internet today without hearing news of wars or threats of war. Disagreements between nations seem to escalate. Groups fight against each other. Just look at the increased intensity within the United States between liberals and conservatives. One also can read or hear much about, earthquakes, volcano eruptions, hurricanes, tornadoes, and other destructive nature eruptions. All of this can be quite alarming and have an impact upon our lives. Yet our Lord tells us that such things must happen. He also tells us that these are like the beginning of birth pains. God sees the elapsing of time in a much different manner than we humans do. How long will it be until the end comes? We do not know, nor were we meant to know. It will come when God deems that it is time for it to occur. What we must do is continue to serve our Lord, living our lives for Him. Do not let things of this world be your ruler. Belong to Christ. Live in His ways.
