As Jesus was leaving the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Look, Teacher! What massive stones! What magnificent buildings!” “Do you see all these great buildings?” replied Jesus. “Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”. Mark 13:1-2 NIV
Here we see a case of one of the disciples caught up in the magnificence of that which comes from man. Why is it that we don’t very often reflect upon the magnificence of God? Is it that we can more easily visibly see that which comes from man? What is the last time you truly marveled at a sunrise or sunset, reflecting upon the fact that it is God which brings the warmth of the sun to us each day? Do you really care more about that which is seen rather than that which is of spirit? Oh, our minds can be so very feeble in that which it can comprehend. Open your heart and soul to the Lord. Let Him lead you to understanding of that which is far beyond the comprehension of the unbeliever. Let your heart and soul rest in the saving power of Jesus Christ. Why spend so much time reflecting upon that which is of man? There is so much more to be had in belonging to Christ. Live for Him!
