Hold Nothing Against Thy Neighbor

“And when you stand to pray, if you hold anything against another, forgive it, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your trespasses as well.” Mark 11:25 NIV

A heart which lacks forgiveness is held captive. It is imprisoned, unable to have the power of God released within through love. What if God chose not to forgive us? If that were true life would hold no real hope. We would live only to die. But through the acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Savior, we are forgiven our sins. We will one day stand before the heavenly Father, having been bathed in the sacrificial blood of Christ. When we go to God in prayer, we cannot do so while we hold something against our fellow man. We have been forgiven much more than we ourselves can forgive. We must approach God with love in our heart: love for Him and love for our neighbor. Approach God in prayer with your heart filled with love!
