Then Peter spoke up, “We have left everything to follow you!” “Truly I tell you,” Jesus replied, “no one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age: homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children and fields—along with persecutions—and in the age to come eternal life. Mark 10:28-30 NIV

We may need to leave both family and friends if needed to serve the Lord. In the Lord, though, we will find new family, the family of believers in Jesus Christ. The rewards received include, salvation, joy, peace, true purpose to life, and other things which this world cannot provide. We shall also receive eternal life in heaven to be with the Father and the Son. Do not underestimate that which God can provide. It exceeds what your mind is capable of comprehending. Do whatever is needed in order to follow the Lord. His reward, in all its fulness awaits you!
