On To Jerusalem

They were on their way up to Jerusalem, with Jesus leading the way, and the disciples were astonished, while those who followed were afraid. Again he took the Twelve aside and told them what was going to happen to him. “We are going up to Jerusalem,” he said, “and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the teachers of the law. They will condemn him to death and will hand him over to the Gentiles, who will mock him and spit on him, flog him and kill him. Three days later he will rise.” Mark 10:32-34 NIV

Jesus, the disciples, and those who followed Him were now on the way to Jerusalem. Jesus was in the lead, intent to complete the work the Father had given Him. There seemed to be a sense to all that something was about to take place. Many were afraid while the disciples were amazed. I think all present except for Jesus would have preferred to be heading somewhere else. This was the reason though that Jesus came, to save mankind.

Jesus made it plainly clear to the disciples that which would happen in Jerusalem. Although He did not state here the manner in which He would be killed, He did let the disciples know that on the third day He would be raised to life.

In Jesus we live. In Jesus we die to earthly wants. In Jesus we shall be raised to life!
