Don't Nullify God's Word

Thus you nullify the word of God by the tradition you have handed down. And you do many things like that. Mark 7:13 NIV

Christ is calling mankind to the carpet. He lets us know in a few words here that we are nullifying the word of God with our man-made traditions. Now, why would mankind do such a thing? It is because man wants to live for the things of this world, and not for adhering to the word of the Creator. Mankind seeks instant gratification. He seeks pleasure. He seeks for self. This way of living hardly aligns with that which God seeks from us. Do we wish to gain our life, or to lose it? If we wish to truly gain our life, then we must sacrifice self, and live for God. This is foolishness to those of this world, but, as we know, man’s wisdom is foolishness to God. Each of us makes a choice. It is not easy to choose to live for God. It requires us to walk the narrow path. We will fall often and need to go to Christ to seek forgiveness and be led back to the narrow path. If the heart is sincere in seeking Christ, He will not turn away from us. Live by God’s commands and not man’s traditions.
