By this time it was late in the day, so his disciples came to him. “This is a remote place,” they said, “and it’s already very late. Send the people away so that they can go to the surrounding countryside and villages and buy themselves something to eat.” But he answered, “You give them something to eat.” They said to him, “That would take more than half a year’s wages. Are we to go and spend that much on bread and give it to them to eat?” Mark 6:35-37 NIV
The disciples came to Jesus with what they believed to be a problem, along with a solution. Jesus quickly responded with a better solution, but the disciples were not able to see it. After all that Jesus had already performed in their sight, how could they believe that this supposed problem was not really one at all. It just set the table for another showing of the power of the Lord.
When we come to Jesus today with our dilemmas, do we really listen to what He has to say, and do we truly believe that which we are told? Our ways and our thoughts are truly limited if we do not in faith accept that which the Lord speaks unto us. Just as the Lord was preparing to feed the multitude in the above, so He is ready to feed us. Are we ready for the food He has prepared, or do we already believe we know what is on the menu? I believe the Lord has the proper menu for us. Let us believe and trust in Him when we take our concerns and issues unto Him!
