But many who saw them leaving recognized them and ran on foot from all the towns and got there ahead of them. When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things. Mark 6:33-34 NIV
Just as on that day 2000 years ago, Jesus looks down upon the world today, noting that many are like sheep without a shepherd, aimlessly wandering this world, not knowing truth. He sees many searching, knowing they are searching in the wrong place. He truly has compassion, and is there, waiting for the one with a heart knowing that it needs help, help which the world cannot provide. When we realize that we are bankrupt in ourselves, and need God in our lives, Jesus will be there. He yearns to be our Shepherd, to lead us to green pastures, a place where we can find joy and peace. The heart and soul must realize that we need our Lord to be at the center of our lives. Then we shall find that which man is truly searching for. Life will then have true meaning.
