They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes. When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an impure spirit came from the tombs to meet him. This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain. For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones. Mark 5:1-5 NIV

Have you ever felt like you were in chains? Did you in your heart, mind, and soul cry out, looking for a solution to your enslavement? If you did find relief from your being bound, was it short-lived? If so, I would be willing to bet it was because you did not cry out to the Lord, but instead looked for an answer from some other source. At best what you will find is a band-aid. This only provides temporary assistance.

Why do we not realize that the true source for ending enslavement and chains can only come from the Lord? The Lord sent an angel to Paul when he was in jail, removing the chains from him. Do you not believe that our Savior wishes to remove the chains which enslave you? He loves us beyond what we could imagine. He asks us to trust in Him and believe in Him. Let Christ remove any chains which enslave you! Be free in Christ!
