How Shall We Teach Them?

With many similar parables Jesus spoke the word to them, as much as they could understand. He did not say anything to them without using a parable. But when he was alone with his own disciples, he explained everything. Mark 4:33-34 NIV

How was God going to teach mankind about what heaven is like? God’s ways and thoughts are so far beyond that of mankind, so how could God get man to understand? Also, how could He explain it to them in such a way so He could see those who really wanted to learn more about God’s ways, and those who were not really interested? God already knows our thoughts and desires. God knew that mankind could understand parables, and that they do teach lessons. So, Christ patiently taught the multitudes in the form of parables. Many would hear Him and just think of Him as a nice guy telling feel good fairy tale type stories. But the blessed few would realize that there was more to His parables than just their face value. These would find ways to learn more as their hearts and souls would not be satisfied otherwise.

Jesus did reveal the meaning of the parables to the disciples, as they would be the ones to share the message once Christ ascended to the Father.

I encourage all to delve deeper into the scripture which you read each day. Pray that the Holy Spirit will enhance your understanding of God’s Word. There is no message which the world can share with you that can compare to God’s Word!
