Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an impure spirit cried out, “What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!” “Be quiet!” said Jesus sternly. “Come out of him!” The impure spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek. Mark 1:23-26 NIV

Evil spirits know their eternal fate. They might wreak havoc now, but they know that they are eternally doomed. All they want to do is take down as many souls as they can to the eternal fate that they will face. They know that they cannot win the war. They have absolutely no power over Jesus Christ. They use their arsenal of trickery and deceit to fool souls into thinking there is no eternal price to pay. But they know that this is not the truth. Evil shrieks when it is cast out, as it now must wander in the abyss, seeking another place to dwell. Know that in the power of Jesus Christ evil has no control over you. Remember though that this is so only when you have Christ living within your heart. Don’t ever think you on your own have power to conquer evil. It is only through Christ that you can conquer evil.
