No one should seek his own good, but the good of others. 1 Corinthians 10:24 NIV

Seeking one’s own good, by definition is to be self-centered. Do we realize that doing so hinders us from helping others? It is so easy to get caught in the trap of self-seeking. We can even do so subconsciously. But this is not the way of Christ. We are told to pick up our cross daily, and follow in His steps. We must die to self. If one chooses not to do so, they cannot truly serve Christ. Our life on this earth is but a blink of an eye compared to eternity that shall be spent with the Lord by those who believe in Him and take Him to be their Master. Live the life of this world, and you live short-sighted. Live your life desiring the promise of eternity in heaven offered by the Lord.
