The Lord's Cup and Table

You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot partake in the table of the Lord and the table of demons too. 1 Corinthians 10:21 NIV

Drinking the cup of the Lord and eating at His table require that we belong to Him. We must be attuned to His will. We must die to self and live for Him. This certainly is not what the world teaches. The world tells you to live for self, to accumulate that which will wind up perishing. As the Lord has told us, we cannot serve two masters. If we choose to serve Him, it entails sacrifice. We must lose our life to gain life in Christ. When we drink the cup of the Lord, we are baptized into His death, and into His resurrection as well. We die to self that we might be resurrected to a new life, a life in Christ. We also shall be raised from death to join our Lord in eternity. Do not be deceived by the cup and the table of this earth. All shall pass away that does not belong to God.
