Lord God,

I thank you for the physical body you have given me,

That it is more complex and wonderful than I can comprehend,

And that each part of it has been uniquely and intricately designed by you,

I thank you for the many amazing mechanisms you have placed within my body,

That work tirelessly every day,

To allow me to breathe, function and enjoy the world around me,

So help me Lord to glorify you through my physical body,

Please remind me that my body is a temple of your Spirit,

Help me to keep my body holy and pure,

And give me the strength to flee all sexual immorality and unrighteousness,

Help me Lord to honour you through taking care of my body,

Whether it’s through maintaining a healthy diet,

Or getting enough physical exercise,

Or resting and sleeping well,

Or avoiding any behaviour,

That would risk causing me unnecessary harm,

But as wonderful as this earthly body is,

Please also remind me that this body is only temporary and is subject to aging and decay,

And that it will one day perish,

And increase my hope as I look to the day when you will raise me up with a new body,

That is stronger and more glorious than the one I have now,

A new body that won’t decay and perish,

But will last throughout eternity.
