We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak and not to please ourselves. Each of us should please our neighbors for their good, to build them up. For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.” For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. Romans 15:1-4 NIV

We must realize that scripture is meant to teach us. We are taught Godly ways through scripture. Through reading scripture we hopefully learn to endure, as this is something we must do, living in a world full of sin. Scripture also should encourage us to live our lives for Christ. We are to live as He lived. Yes, we at times do fail to do so, but we must not let this discourage us from continuing to live as He did. We must bear with the weakness of our neighbor. We must seek for the benefit of others, and not seek to advance because of their weakness. Christ did not live to better life for Himself, but through His teachings and actions to better life for those around Him. Christ truly was the servant of all. We have been told that the one who seeks to find his life will lose it, but the one who loses his life for the sake of Christ shall find it. A life lived for Christ is a life lived as a servant. Be a servant for those you meet. Be the servant of Jesus Christ!
