That Which Leads to Peace

Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. Romans 14:19 NIV

One of the Beatitudes (Matthew 5:9) states “Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God.” We who are God’s children are truly called to be peacemakers. There should be no room for anger, hatred, and descension in our hearts. We are called to bring peace through living Godly lives. Instead of brining people down, we should be focused on edifying. Each of us can and does need to make improvements to our lives. We certainly cannot do all that we need to on our own. We need support and encouragement from others. We do not need to have stumbling blocks put in our pathway, and we should reframe from doing so to others. Any aggression we have should be focused on combatting evil actions, and not the ones who perpetrate them. Leave vengeance to the Lord! Live at peace with others and be a child of God!

A fine and encouraging list of the role, traits and the responsibilities of a Peacemaker. Anyone who could bring a sense of peace to our present national conversation would be truly welcome.
