We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. Romans 8:22-25 NIV

We must patiently wait for the day promised to us when we will be made righteous, standing before our Heavenly Father, with our soul united with our heavenly body. We now groan for that time, living within the confines of our earthly body. Yes, we have been freed by Christ from enslavement to the evil of this world, but we still must struggle with it daily as we live our lives now for the Lord. We know that we shall receive the promise made to us, yet we eagerly await its coming. We wish not to have to struggle, yet, we know that we must suffer, just as our Savior did. We must pray that we continually be led to walk in the pathway of the Lord, sacrificing our earthly life that we might receive the eternal life promised to us. We hope in faith for that which has not yet been revealed to us. The day of the fulfillment of the promise shall come. It is more assured than any promise given by anyone else. Live in the promises of God!
