Our Fight Against Sin

Our fight against sin can often leave us so helpless,

Although we try hard to right what’s wrong,

The temptation to sin is too strong,

And we are helpless to change, our hearts remain a mess,

Yet, down from the depths, we can lift our eyes to the cross,

The place where Jesus paid for all sin,

Over death and evil, he did win,

To give us hope of new life while we were still lost,

So we can confess our sins before God’s mighty throne,

For Christ’s blood washes away all stains,

Through faith in him, no judgement remains,

We are God’s children and He gladly calls us his own,

Through God’s strength, there is no sin that we cannot defeat,

He’ll give us strength to fight through each day,

His Spirit is with us all the way,

Until God’s work in us will finally be complete.
