Lord God,

I thank you for my minister and the sermon that they will bring to us this morning,

I thank you for using them each week to teach us your Word,

So Lord, please give them the strength and giftings that they need this morning,

To preach your Word faithfully and clearly,

And give them wisdom so that they may know the best way,

For helping the congregation put your Word into practice,

Please help them not to fear what people may think of their preaching,

Or to focus on seeking after the praise of men,

But help them to focus on glorifying you above all things through their sermon,

Lord, please open the hearts of the congregation this morning to hear this message,

Give them wisdom and understanding of your Word and how to apply it,

Help them not to forget what they hear this morning,

But to continue to reflect on your Word and to live by it,

So that through your Word Lord,

Your church will continue to be built up to maturity in Christ.
