Before Christ came ‘acalling,
I was a prisoner headed for the penitentiary;
But somehow in His mercy,
God sent a servant to me…
And so, I said the sinner’s prayer,
But felt no change, you see;
And so, when I did get released, my friends,
I went on another sin spree…
But God is faithful,
As faithful as can be;
Nope, He never left my side,
Never turned His back on me…
For He saw this day ‘acoming,
When I would gladly be
Molded by the Maker’s hand
Into the man He meant me to be…
Oh, how I love my sweet Savior,
And oh, how much He loves me.
I’ll never be able to thank Him enough
For loving a criminal like me…
