Prayer for Peace in All Circumstances
I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. Phil 4:11-13 NIV
Dear Father,
I love you.
I come seeking your peace that surpasses all understanding. I am not asking today for a change in my circumstances to bring temporary peace. I realize now that a change in circumstances in this fallen world can never give me real peace. The peace it offers is only circumstantial, a false peace that is nowhere to be found when I need it most. The enemy cannot offer me your peace, so he offers this cheap imitation that I have sought all my life. I am tired of chasing worldly circumstances and trying to establish my own kingdom of peace. I now admit that I cannot create my own perfect world in a fallen world.
I now realize that if I trust circumstances for peace, circumstances will steal my peace. If I trust Jesus alone for my peace, circumstances can never steal my peace.
I know this world will bring pain, suffering, and death. I want to be of value to the kingdom as your ambassador when tragedy strikes the lives of those around me. I accept all circumstances, people, place’s, things and situations as they are today in my life and seek your guidance, wisdom, and help. I choose to prepare now to walk in your peace in all circumstances as you have asked me.
I will no longer let the enemy use circumstances to steal your peace from me and the power it holds. Today and forever, I vow to seek only Jesus peace that overcomes all circumstances. The peace my brother Jesus bequeathed to me. Father, I believe I have peace with you today and always because of Jesus sacrifice. I know from your word that the Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy and that the key to your peace lies in my belief that I am righteous in Christ. I am right with you. I believe this with all my heart. We are good now and forever.
Therefore, I state for all to hear that I believe Jesus has made me righteous by his shed blood on the cross. I believe he was crucified for my sins and raised for my justification. I believe my perfected Spirit is as righteous before you as I will ever be, all because of your beloved son's sacrifice for me. I agree with the Holy Spirits conviction of me that my Spirit is righteous, holy, sanctified and perfected by the blood of Jesus. I vow to stop looking at my failures, my sins, and my crucified flesh that will never be perfected and must die. I vow to only look to my solution, Jesus finished work for me. To behold his glory and be transformed as your word tells me. To be righteousness conscious and not sin conscious, grieving the Holy Spirit. You promise that you are not counting my sins and I will no longer count them. I forgive myself as you have forgiven me.
I reject anger, unforgiveness, bitterness, worry, fear, resentment, offense and anything that would steal your peace from me. At the slightest temptation to fall into these old behaviors, I vow to reject the seeds the enemy tries to plant. I cannot afford to waste my time on these any longer. Instead, I will diligently pray for your blessing, protection and well being upon the lives of all who trouble my heart in the least. No time to play the enemies games. No time to let my heart be troubled or afraid. My heart's desire is to walk daily in the Spirit, in your peace, where you want me. Not in the flesh where the enemy seeks to draw me with every changing circumstance.
I rest in your sweet everlasting peace and the power it holds to transform my life and how I see people and situations in this fallen world. I know that when your peace shows up in my life, it can change circumstances, or at the very least, how I view them. I trust you with everything and want to walk in your ways, not mine. I wholeheartedly embrace your plans for my life. There is no other option; you have the words of life.
I treasure the time we spend together and anxiously look forward to the day we will meet face to face. I love you, Father.

This prayer coincides with a Bible study I am leading which finishes today. The scripture you use is one I asked the group to memorize along with Philippians 4:6-7. It's God's way of using your prayer message to affirm what we need to takeaway from our study of finding contentment and peace.
