Thank you, dear teacher, for helping me to see that if our purpose for our own lives loses itself and is absorbed in God’s purpose for our lives, then that sense of purpose grows into something greater, much greater than ourselves. But if God’s purpose for our lives gets lost and obliterated in our own purposes for our lives, then we find ourselves without purpose at all or worse, with less than no purpose in life, if that were possible. If there is one word I could and would employ to characterize the difference that Jesus Christ first made in my life, it would be the adjective “purposeful.”
