Praying For All

In our finite humanity we can only pray for one request or need at a time as the Holy Spirit leads us. But as we commune with the One who is interceeding and who is able to pray for all His Body at once, then we begin to enter into that all encompassing intercession of our Great High Priest. Doing this we are beginning even now to transcend our own finite limitations while still here on earth. We are tasting some of what it means to be in heaven on earth. We can’t pray for everyone except by communing with the One who is praying for everyone this very moment. And let us not forget to give thanks for all as we do it! “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people…” (1 Timothy 2, v.1, NIV)  and "keep alert.....making supplication for all the saints." (Ephesianns 6, v.18)
