Acts two is a fully loaded chapter. It is comparable to your absolute best entree WITH dessert !

However, what really sticks out to me is that in preaching and teaching the crowd, Peter relied HEAVILY upon the written Word of God !

Peter was a disciple of Jesus and was selected by the Father to be one of Jesus' twelve apostles. For three years Peter practically Lived with the Lover of our souls and saw countless miracles, signs and wonders. John 21:25 delights us in saying: "Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written."
Yet when addressing the masses, instead of sharing Amazing testimonies from his time walking with our Sweet Lord and Savior (which we most certainly should do when lead by Holy Spirit), Peter shared the Word of God.

Peter, from verses 16-28, spoke nothing but scripture. Everything within those verses was revealed to the prophets Joel, Isaiah, Moses, Zechariah and King David by Holy Spirit hundreds of years in advance. Each is recorded in the Torah and the prophets' scrolls from which we now have the Old Testament.

Peter understood this fundamental importance; it is the Word Who does the work. (John 1)
