“Immediately after the distress of those days“ ‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’ “Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.” Matthew 24:29-31 NIV

I believe the Lord makes it quite clear, here, that there shall be no doubt when He comes again. It will be obvious at its occurrence.

Those who are of this world will mourn. Then it will be too late to have a change of heart. The Lord will send out His angels to gather those who belong to the Lord. The Lord will come in great power and great glory! The sun and the moon shall no longer function. Heavenly bodies shall be shaken. Those who belong to this world shall be judged for their lack of belief in Christ.

If we are going about doing the work of our Master, abiding in and living in Him, then we shall be prepared if He chooses to come before we pass from our present lives.
