“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah. Matthew 16:15-20 NIV
Who do you say that Jesus is? We must not just say that Jesus is Lord with our mouths, but we must also do so with how we live our lives, and the actions which we take. By receiving salvation through Christ, we shall then enter into the gates of heaven. We may not be given the keys to the gate of heaven, but admittance is good enough for me. What a true blessing we have in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Christ said He would build His church on the rock. We have a responsibility to the Lord to keep working on the building of the church, the body of Christ. We fellowship with others in the name of the Lord, and we share Him with those with whom we interact. Let the Holy Spirit direct you in sharing. Let your life be an example of one who belongs to Christ.
