Many of the Christian reformers, such as Ezra, Martin Luther, Martin Luther King and Lars Levi Laestadius, started off as scholars. A revelation from God led them to a crisis and a call to bring change to their culture.

Lars was a preacher of Laplander and Swedish descent who had a passion for languages and mythology. At just the right time he met an impoverished Laplander woman named Milla Clementsdaughter who shared her heart about a living faith in Jesus. The setting was at a meeting with the high level Christian leaders of Sweden. He became born-again and felt compelled to spread the message all over Scandinavia and Western Russia.

He started sharing with the Laps his conversion story of that involved a Laplander woman who he re-named Maria. She was like the cumination of the Marys in the Bible: Mary the mother of Jesus, Mary Magdelene, Mary of Bethany, Mary the sister of Martha, and the sinful woman who wiped her scented hair on Jesus feet.

Lars began preaching about thr "high" religious leaders who did "dead" works and had false doctrines intertwined with intellectualism. He claimed to be a part of the "low" church that had "living" faith. He taught on the separation of intellectualsm from the mind and claimed that there has always been a remnant walking in the truth.

He taught the Laps that the spirits they were worshipping were real but evil.

The emphasis of his ministry was on faith, love, holiness, and joy. He told the Finns that their alcoholism came from unclean spirits and that the joy of thre Holy Spirit had a better feeling and it also healed them of the spirit of depression.

The Finns loved their booze because it was their only solice while being under the oppression of neighboring countries' rulers. They were stoic peasants until they started rejoicing which is being drunk in the Spirit while ecstatically dancing. This rejoicing was the signature of that movement of God.
